Review – Diary of a Wimpy Kid 16

After a year of waiting, Jeff Kinney’s latest book is the best selling Diary Of A Wimpy Kid series, Big Shot has now been revealed to the outside world. I have created this review to alert readers of what to expect from this book.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Big Shot (Book 16) : Kinney, Jeff: Amazon.co.uk: Books

The plot although positively spectacular could use some tweaking – but, before we continue, you must read the overall outline of the story:

Greg Heffley And Sports Just Don’t Mix.

Following a disastrous competition at school, Greg decides that he’s officially retired from any kind of sport! That is, until his mom persuades him to give it one more go and makes Greg reluctantly agree to sign up for basketball.

As you can see, this plot is just another resolved disaster story. In fact, if it weren’t for Kinney’s uncanny ability to randomly work unrelated topics into the story, then Big Shot would be far less popular than it is today.

This story also contains unimaginably inane descriptions that you will have to find out for yourself. This is also why you won’t be able to envisage much from the description alone. Conveniently, that is why Wimpy Kid books contain an incredulous amount of pictures.

One thing I like about this book is the succulent plot twists which, no matter how much you prepare for, you will always be surprised by them. One thing I dislike about this book is the aforementioned descriptions but, like I already proclaimed, that’s why Diary of A Wimpy Kid books contain an explicit amount of pictures.
