Max Helsing – Monster Hunter

Descended for a long line of monster hunters, Max Helsing does a pretty good job of being a normal teenager by day and goth monster by night. But on his thirteenth birthday, an ancient vampire is freed from its confines and sets every American monster onto him. Fighting to survive, the plot of this bestselling novel is very repetitive; it is just Max fighting and him repeatedly running away.

So if you like knowing what may happen next in the plot then this is the book for you. If not, you should read the other books in the series. They are far better than this debut novel. This is a short summary of the book:

MAX HELSING isn’t afraid of a few monsters.

As a trainee monster hunter, Max knows his gargoyles from his ghouls and can spot an adolescent vampire from fifty paces…

But life is about to get a lot scarier!

One thing I despise about this book is how inconsistent the blurb is. Max forever has aspects of his monster hunting life bleeding into his school day and vice versa. Trust me, if you are a Percy Jackson fan then don’t read this book no matter what the author, Curtis Jobling, says.

Thanks for reading! -Pencilore
